Protection against limescale | Extended lifespan of appliances | Reduced energy consumption | Environmental friendliness | Easy installation and maintenance |
ARAGO mini is an ion system for treating source water that prevents the formation of calcium deposits. It is primarily designed for installation before household appliances, such as washing machines, dishwashers, or boilers (hot water storage tanks). Its operation significantly extends the lifespan of these devices.
The ion treatment system ARAGO represents a modern, eco-friendly, and maintenance-free water treatment solution that does not require electricity or chemicals. This contributes to a reduction in operating and maintenance costs. The device provides reliable protection against limescale for 6 to 8 years, depending on the water quality, its composition, and flow rate.
Zinc ions released by the ARAGO device cause a permanent change in the structure of carbonate minerals contained in the water, preventing their deposition. The modified minerals are subsequently gradually washed away from the plumbing system. This treatment method preserves not only all essential minerals in the water but also its original taste and smell.
The product is made from the highest quality materials that are hygienically safe and designed for contact with drinking water. It complies with the requirements of Regulation 409/2005 Coll. on hygienic requirements for products coming into contact with drinking water.
How the ARAGO system works?
Water hardness is primarily caused by the presence of dissolved calcium bicarbonate (CaHCO₃). Heating the water leads to the transformation of this bicarbonate into insoluble calcium carbonate (CaCO₃). The subsequent precipitation of carbonate and its deposition on the surface of heat exchangers, heating elements, or pipes leads to the formation of "hard limescale". This limescale is a form of calcium carbonate known as calcite.
The ARAGO device utilizes a natural electrochemical process in which zinc ions are released into the water. These ions cause calcium carbonate not to crystallize as hard calcite, but in the form of aragonite, which is non-sticky and easily removable. Although calcite and aragonite are chemically identical (both are forms of calcium carbonate), they differ in structure and physical properties.
If a small amount of aragonite still settles, for example in devices with low water flow like an electric kettle, it can be easily removed by wiping. The change in the structure of calcite and aragonite is permanent.
