The Disruptor™ filter cartridge is the second stage of filtration in Quell filtration devices. It is the most effective filter available on the market. It utilizes a process called electrosorption, which creates an electric field upon contact with water. It removes and eliminates almost all contaminants.

Disruptor™ Technology

Disruptor™ is a unique filtration technology that, like carbon filters, reduces chlorine, removes odor from water, and improves its taste. Additionally, it removes pathogens and other contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites, endotoxins, pharmaceutical residues, and heavy metals (lead, iron, copper) from the water.

However, it maintains minerals in the water and therefore it is not necessary to mineralize the filtered water as is the case with reverse osmosis. It does not remove nitrates or dissolved salts from the water and is not suitable for seawater filtration.
