Semidol K1 is used for drinking water filtration and for the purpose of deacidifying water, removing iron, manganese, and silicon. It is also designed to increase the calcium and magnesium content in water, thus for water mineralization. As a result of the alkaline reaction of MgO, in addition to increasing pH, it also leads to de-ironing and de-manganizing of the water and the removal of silicon.

This is a partially calcined dolomite obtained by thermal treatment of raw dolomite. At temperatures around 850 °C, partial deacidification occurs to CaCO3 * MgO.
