The basic type is chromium-nickel austenitic steel AISI 304

This is the most widely used corrosion-resistant steel on the market, which has a low carbon content and is therefore well weldable. It has very good cold formability. It can be strengthened during forming. It bends and shapes well. The steel is very polishable and resists temperatures up to 300-350°C. Machinability is not good, but can be machined with sharp-edged tools. The steel is resistant to water, steam, humidity, edible acids, and weak organic and inorganic acids. It withstands weather conditions outside coastal areas or environments with higher concentrations of aggressive chemicals. It has a wide range of applications. It is used in the food industry, chemical industry, dairy industry, brewing industry, wine industry, as well as in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Its significance is also notable in architecture and design, in the field of motor vehicle construction, for household items and appliances, for medical devices and tools including surgical instruments, for the production of artistic items and jewelry, for the manufacturing of large kitchen equipment and household kitchen appliances including draft beer installations.

*AISI 316L - acid-resistant chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel with a low carbon content of up to 0.03 %.

It is highly resistant to concentrated acids, both organic and inorganic, of course when observing lower concentrations and at moderate temperatures. It has significantly increased resistance to all types of corrosion. This grade has a slight tendency toward pitting corrosion caused by stress in chloride solutions. It is very well weldable and polishable. Its advantage is that after welding, the steel retains its high resistance to intergranular corrosion. The material AISI 316L is characterized by very good mechanical properties during pressing, bending, and drawing. This steel is often used in the chemical industry, in equipment for contact with seawater, and for the production of swimming pool accessories and technologies.
