UV lamp ECO 10 W is designed for removing bacteria, cysts, and viruses from water using UV radiation. This disinfection method is applicable in family homes, cafes, laboratories, restaurants, hospitals, and also in industry.

The UV lamp consists of a metal housing and UV lamp with a special quartz tube. The device can be installed horizontally or vertically. 

For connecting the UV lamp, we recommend using surge protection UV Protect S PO20 in the socket before the transformer. This protects the UV lamp and the transformer from surges caused by current shocks or storms.

How the UV lamp works

Water flows into the stainless steel tube (UV reactor) and continues to flow inside the tube around the powerful UV lamp, which is located inside a waterproof quartz tube. Ultraviolet radiation kills bacteria and viruses and damages their DNA molecule structure, thus preventing reproduction. At the same time, it does not introduce any changes to the chemical content of the water and does not create by-products. Ultraviolet radiation is completely harmless, ecological, easy, inexpensive, and is the most modern method of disinfection.

Health safety is paramount. Water disinfection is therefore crucial for health - for example, a single colony of Escherichia Coli bacteria is enough to cause illness.

Replacing the UV lamp

The lifespan of the UV lamp under constant operation is one year, after which the UV lamp needs to be replaced even if it is still lit, because after one year the lamp is already exhausted and ineffective (different frequency spectrum).

Never handle the UV lamp with bare hands, always use, for example, a dry paper towel. Handling with bare hands significantly reduces the lifespan of the lamp.

For convenient replacement of the UV lamp, a space at least the length of the UV lamp in the direction of removal of the UV lamp is needed. To remove the quartz tube, it is necessary to loosen the nut at the opposite end from the transformer connection. It is essential that this is easily accessible.

Please note that for the proper functioning of the UV lamp, mechanical pre-filtration of water is required. We usually use mechanical filters from our offer. We recommend the mechanical filter for water PX 5 ECO.
