Product detailed description
UV lamps KING LIGHT are designed to remove bacteria, cysts, and viruses from water using UV radiation. This disinfection method is applicable for family homes, cottages, laboratories, restaurants, hospitals, and also in industry.
The UV lamp can be installed horizontally or vertically.
For connecting the UV lamp, we recommend using surge protection UV Protect S PO20 to the socket before the transformer. This will protect the UV lamp and transformer from surges caused by current shocks or storms.
How the UV lamp works
Water enters the stainless steel tube (UV reactor) and then flows inside the tube around a powerful UV lamp located inside a waterproof quartz tube. Ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of 253.7 nm kills bacteria and viruses and damages their DNA molecular structure, thus preventing reproduction. At the same time, it does not alter the chemical content of the water and does not create by-products. Ultraviolet radiation is completely harmless, eco-friendly, easy, inexpensive, and the most modern method of disinfection.
For the UV lamp to fulfill its purpose, it must operate for at least 10-15 minutes, during which the necessary light frequency spectrum is created that destroys viruses and bacteria. If the UV lamp has not been on for more than 4 hours, bacteria will start to form colonies and gradually invade the pipes further. For these reasons, it is necessary for the UV lamp to be continuously turned on. In cases where the water is unused for more than 2 days (for example, due to going on vacation), we recommend turning off the UV lamp. Before using the water, turn on the UV lamp, wait 15 minutes, and then let enough water flow through so that new water passes through the UV lamp.
Health safety is a priority. Therefore, water disinfection is crucial for health - for example, a single colony of Escherichia Coli bacteria is enough to cause illness.
That is why UV lamps KING LIGHT, due to their high efficiency in disinfection, guarantee absolute certainty based on 90 years of experience.
Replacing the UV lamp
The lifespan of the UV lamp when continuously lit is one year, after which the UV lamp must be replaced even if it is still shining, because after one year, the lamp is exhausted and ineffective (different frequency spectrum).
Never handle the UV lamp with bare hands; always use, for example, a dry paper towel. Handling with bare hands significantly reduces the lifespan of the lamp.
For convenient replacement of the UV lamp, a space of at least the length of the UV lamp in the direction of the lamp removal is needed. To remove the quartz tube, the nut on the opposite end from the transformer connection must be loosened. Therefore, it should be easily accessible.

Individual UV lamp models differ in maximum flow rate, i.e., the flow rate at which they can still ensure a water irradiation intensity of 40 mJ/cm2 according to Czech legislation.
Requirements for input water:
- Iron – max. 0.3 mg/l
- Manganese – max. 0.05 mg/l
- Water hardness – max. 2.5 mmol/l
- Mechanical pre-filtration is required.
You should know
We would like to point out that for the proper functioning of the UV lamp, mechanical pre-filtration of water is necessary. We generally use mechanical filters from our offer. We recommend the prefilter PX 50 or PX 80.
For the proper operation of the device, we recommend installation by our authorized service throughout the Czech Republic. The installation price depends on the complexity of the installation and the materials used.
