Product detailed description
UV lamps KING LIGHT are designed to remove bacteria, cysts, and viruses from water using UV radiation. This disinfection method is suitable for family homes, cottages, laboratories, restaurants, hospitals, and also in industry.
The UV lamp can be installed horizontally or vertically.
How the UV lamp works
Water enters a stainless steel tube (UV reactor) and flows through the inside of the tube around a powerful UV bulb located inside a waterproof quartz tube. Ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of 253.7 nm kills bacteria and viruses and damages their DNA molecular structure, preventing them from reproducing. At the same time, it does not alter the chemical composition of the water and does not create by-products. Ultraviolet radiation is completely harmless, eco-friendly, easy, cheap, and the most modern method of disinfection.
For the UV lamp to serve its purpose, it must be operational for at least 10-15 minutes, during which the necessary light frequency spectrum is created to eliminate viruses and bacteria. If the UV lamp is not turned on for more than 4 hours, bacteria begin to form colonies and gradually grow further along the pipes. For these reasons, it is necessary for the UV lamp to remain on at all times. If the water is not used for more than 2 days (for example, due to going on vacation), we recommend turning off the UV lamp. Before using the water, turn on the UV lamp, wait for 15 minutes, and then let enough water flow through to replace it with fresh water that has passed through the UV lamp.
Health safety is paramount. Water disinfection is therefore crucial for health - for example, just one colony of Escherichia Coli bacteria is enough to cause illness.
Therefore, KING LIGHT UV lamps, due to their high disinfection efficiency, guarantee absolute safety based on the last 90 years of experience.
Replacing the UV bulb
The lifespan of the UV lamp when constantly illuminated is one year, after which the UV bulb needs to be replaced even if it still lights up, because after a year the bulb is already burned out and ineffective (different frequency spectrum).
Never handle the UV bulb with bare hands; always use, for example, a dry paper towel. Handling with bare hands significantly reduces the lifespan of the bulb.
For comfortable replacement of the UV bulb, a space at least as long as the UV lamp in the direction of the bulb removal is needed. To remove the quartz tube, it is necessary to loosen the nut on the opposite end from the transformer connection. Therefore, it must be easily accessible.

Individual models of UV lamps differ in maximum flow rate, i.e., the flow rate at which they can still ensure a water irradiation intensity of 40 mJ/cm2, according to Czech legislation.
Requirements for input water:
- Iron – max. 0.3 mg/l
- Manganese – max. 0.05 mg/l
- Water hardness – max. 2.5 mmol/l
- A mechanical pre-filtration is required.
You should know
Please note that for the correct functionality of the UV lamp, mechanical pre-filtration of the water is necessary. Usually, we use mechanical filters from our range. We recommend the PX 50 or PX 80.
For connecting the UV lamp, we recommend using a surge protector UV Protect S PO20 in the outlet before the transformer. This will protect the UV bulb and transformer from surges caused, for example, by current surges or storms.
For the correct operation of the device, we recommend installation by our authorized service throughout the Czech Republic. The installation price depends on the complexity of the installation and the materials used.
