Product detailed description
VIQUA VH 150 UV lamps are designed to remove bacteria, cysts, and viruses from water using UV radiation. This disinfection method is suitable for family homes, cottages, laboratories, restaurants, hospitals, and also in industry.
For connecting the UV lamp, we recommend using surge protection UV Protect S PO20 in the outlet before the transformer. This will protect the UV lamp and transformer from surges caused by power surges or storms.
How the UV lamp works
Water enters the stainless steel tube (UV reactor) and flows inside the tube around a powerful UV lamp located inside a waterproof quartz tube. Ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nm kills bacteria and viruses and damages their DNA molecular structure, thus preventing their reproduction. At the same time, it does not introduce any changes to the chemical composition of the water, nor does it create by-products. Ultraviolet radiation is completely harmless, ecological, easy, inexpensive, and the most modern method of disinfection.
For the UV lamp to serve its purpose, it must be in operation for at least 10-15 minutes to create the necessary light frequency spectrum that eliminates viruses and bacteria. When the UV lamp is not lit for more than 4 hours, bacteria begin to form colonies and gradually start to grow further into the piping. For these reasons, it is essential for the UV lamp to remain turned on. In cases where the water is unused for more than 2 days (for example, when going on vacation), we recommend turning off the UV lamp. Before using the water again, turn on the UV lamp, wait 15 minutes, and then let flow enough water to ensure new water passes through the UV lamp.
Health safety comes first. Therefore, water disinfection is crucial for health – for example, a single colony of Escherichia Coli bacteria is enough to cause illness.
That is why VIQUA UV lamps, thanks to their high disinfection efficiency, guarantee absolute certainty based on 90 years of experience.
Replacement of the UV lamp
The lifespan of the UV lamp under constant illumination is one year, after which the UV bulb must be replaced even if it still lights up, as after a year the bulb becomes exhausted and ineffective (different frequency spectrum).
Never handle the UV bulb with bare hands; always use, for example, a dry paper towel. Handling with bare hands significantly reduces the bulb's lifespan.

- Mechanical pre-filtration is required.
You should know
Please note that proper functioning of the UV lamp requires mechanical water pre-filtration. We usually use mechanical filters from our range. We recommend PX 60 pre-filter or PX 80.
For proper functioning of the device, we recommend installation by our authorized service throughout the Czech Republic. The installation price depends on the complexity of the installation and the materials used.
