Product detailed description
UV lamps VIQUA VH 200 are designed to remove bacteria, cysts, and viruses from water using UV radiation. This disinfection method is applicable for family homes, cottages, laboratories, restaurants, hospitals, and also in industry.
For connecting the UV lamp, we recommend using surge protection UV Protect S PO20 in the socket before the transformer. This will protect the UV lamp and the transformer from surges caused by current pulses or thunderstorms.
How the UV lamp works
Water enters the stainless steel tube (UV reactor) and flows inside the tube around a powerful UV lamp located inside a waterproof quartz tube. Ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nm kills bacteria and viruses, damaging their DNA structure and preventing their reproduction. At the same time, it does not introduce any changes to the chemical composition of the water or create by-products. Ultraviolet radiation is completely harmless, ecological, easy, cheap, and the most modern method of disinfection.
For the UV lamp to serve its purpose, it must be in operation for at least 10-15 minutes, during which the necessary light frequency spectrum is created, effectively eliminating viruses and bacteria. When the UV lamp is off for more than 4 hours, bacteria start forming colonies and gradually grow further into the piping. For these reasons, it is essential for the UV lamp to remain on. If the water is unused for more than 2 days (for instance, due to going on holiday), we recommend turning off the UV lamp. Before using the water, turn on the UV lamp, wait 15 minutes, and then let enough water flow through so that fresh water passes through the UV lamp.
Health safety is a top priority. Therefore, water disinfection is crucial for health - for example, a single colony of Escherichia Coli bacteria is enough to cause illness.
For this reason, VIQUA UV lamps, due to their high disinfection effectiveness, guarantee absolute certainty based on 90 years of experience.
Replacement of the UV lamp
The lifespan of the UV lamp with constant lighting is one year, after which the UV lamp must be replaced even if it still lights, because after one year, the lamp loses effectiveness (different frequency spectrum).
Never handle the UV lamp with bare hands; always use, for example, a dry paper towel. Handling it with bare hands significantly reduces the lifespan of the lamp.

Proposal for possible connection of the VIQUA UV lamp:
Requirements for input water:
- Iron – max. 0.3 mg/l
- Manganese – max. 0.05 mg/l
- Water hardness – max. 2.5 mmol/l
- Mechanical pre-filtration is necessary.
You should know
Please note that for the proper functioning of the UV lamp, mechanical pre-filtration of the water is required. We usually use mechanical filters from our range. We recommend you pre-filter PX 60 or PX 80.
For the proper functioning of the device, we recommend installation by our authorized service throughout the Czech Republic. The installation cost depends on the complexity of the installation and the materials used.
