VIQUA UV lamps are designed to eliminate bacteria, cysts, and viruses from water using UV radiation. This disinfection method is applicable for family homes, cottages, laboratories, restaurants, hospitals, and also in industry.
Water enters the input port of the UV reactor and flows around a high-power mercury lamp located inside a thermally secured quartz tube. Ultraviolet radiation of 253.7nm kills bacteria and viruses and damages their DNA molecular structure, preventing them from reproducing. At the same time, it does not introduce any changes to the chemical composition of the water and does not create by-products. Ultraviolet radiation is completely harmless, eco-friendly, easy, inexpensive, and the most modern method of disinfection.
Safety as a priority. Without it, it would make no sense to talk about disinfection (for example, a single colony of Escherichia Coli bacteria is enough to cause illness). Therefore, VIQUA UV lamps guarantee absolute certainty, derived from worldwide experience in water disinfection over the past 90 years. Sterilight UV lamps are manufactured in Canada and have very high-quality processing.
Individual models of UV lamps differ in maximum flow rate, i.e., the flow rate at which they can still ensure a water irradiation intensity of 40 mJ/cm2, according to Czech legislation.
Please note that for the proper functioning of the UV lamp, mechanical pre-filtration of the water is required. We typically use mechanical filters from our offer. We recommend you the pre-filter PX 60 or PX 80.
For connecting the UV lamp, we recommend using surge protection UV Protect S PO20 before the transformer socket. This will protect the UV lamp and transformer from surges caused by, for example, power surges or storms.
For the proper functioning of the equipment, we recommend installation by our authorized service throughout the Czech Republic. The installation cost depends on the complexity of the installation and the materials used.
Proposed connection diagram for the VIQUA UV lamp:
Requirements for input water:
- Iron – max. 0.3 mg/l.
- Manganese – max. 0.05 mg/l.
- Water hardness – max. 2.5 mmol/l.
- Mechanical pre-filtration is necessary.
Never handle the UV lamp with bare hands; always use, for example, a dry paper towel. Handling with bare hands will significantly reduce the lifespan of the lamp.
