WATER DISINFECTION
Water disinfection is carried out using water chlorination with a metering pump or UV water disinfection using UV lamps. These methods effectively eliminate bacteria, which include Coliform bacteria, Enterococci (fecal streptococci), Psychrophilic bacteria, and Mesophilic bacteria (cultured microorganisms).

The most common and economically least expensive method of water disinfection is water chlorination. Chlorine, in the form of a Savo solution or chloramine, is injected into the water using a metering pump at the main water supply before the pressure tank. The chlorine dose is left to act in the water for 20-30 minutes until all bacteria are destroyed. The metering pump allows precise dosing of chlorine, ensuring that almost all chlorine odor is eliminated.
Water disinfection can also be performed using a more modern, chlorine-free method. By installing UV lamps into the pipeline system, all incoming bacteria are eliminated. UV disinfection is also more affordable for smaller installations, such as in family homes.
